Actually thought the food was decent, but friend had dirty glass and something stuck to her plate. Don't Recommend!

We had some of the best home cooked burgers and onion rings in our lives at Val's place. Unpretentious looking and very casual, it was a surprise to find such excellent food. The wait staff were also excellent. Very friendly and engaging, and keeping an eye out for our needs. A local recommended Val's to us and we were very happy to find that his claims that Val's was a very good eatery were spot on.

Large portions, great selection of breakfast items. Your do good job of keeping your coffee cup filled. Just good down home cooking.

I had my first of many visits down to the lake this weekend. Going to Vals was definitely a highlight. We've been there 2 times now and have not been disappointed. The food was delicious and the staff was so so kind. I really enjoyed this place, I will definitely be back.

The food is fantastic. It's just one of those overlooked places that you miss when you hurry.

Turn over on tables was extra fast and just because they are fast with the tables doesn't mean that they short cut the food. Every aspect of that place left me completely speechless due to how great it all was. From beginning to end, it was amazing!!!

My Denver omelet was great

We had a group of 8 and they sat us outside. But because our whole group wasn’t there at the time. They told us we had to leave after we had our drinks and menus because another group of 8 was coming in. The rest of our group were just down the road. After that they told us we had to leave they said we couldn't go back on the waiting list until the rest came in. They sat the other group inside before telling them “oh you guys could sit outside” so they did. Ive worked in the Restaurant industry before and we always made room for people and waited. No rudeness was necessary.

Our favorite place for any meal. Great homemade soups and you might want to bring someone along just to help you eat their big portions! Good food and great employees!

For our family, no trip to the Lake is complete without a trip to Val's. Our first trip was simply for fun since my adorable wife's name is Val, so of course we had to try it out. Now we are hooked and and looking forward to our next trip to the lake in a few weeks to share Val's with friends. The food is incredible, the menu is vast, and the service is great. Don't come here thinking this is some chain restaurant or a fancy place. It's a great family run business that puts out great product with a good customer experience. To me, there is nothing better.

If you go Val's and order a western omelet,(which is excellent). Be prepared to eat. You can walk out of the establishment for 1500. It's a quiet cozy place to kick off a great day.

I used to love ordering. But the last 3 months it has been horrible. I get the same thing all the time but lately my eggs over easy w/ runny yolk have been a scrambled blob all orange and jelly like. Toast is to be dry always has butter. I get chicken strips they are fried hard. What has happened. I call she says you can bring it back but I have to drive to work so can’t go back. I trust them to check. I never ask for my money back just think it will get better but today was it . I am never eating there again.

Smelled like food was burning on the parking lot. Breakfast HUGE but it tasted burnt even thought it wasn't. A grill cleaning may be in order.
